Welcome to Mint Media Works

Mint Media Works was founded in 2013 by Scott Dummler.  Scott studied at Northwestern University before landing an internship with Luminair Film Productions where he remained for over 20 years working on productions in over 20 countries worldwide from Asia to Africa and throughout the United States.

In 2005, Scott began working with Chef Rick Bayless on the production of his public television cooking show Mexico: One Plate at a Time.  Scott is currently the producer, director and editor of the series, now in its eleventh season, and he received a national Emmy nomination in 2012 for Outstanding Directing in a Culinary Program.

In 2010, Scott also began working for the late Roger Ebert and his wife Chaz, directing the pilot for his revived movie review program, directing special segments, and covering film festivals around the world from Cannes to Morocco.  Scott is also an accomplished editor, having worked on award-winning television travel shows such as Grannies on Safari and Pedal America.

In 2011, Scott directed a large-scale corporate image piece along with a series of training videos for Levy Restaurants.

In 2012, Scott also directed a new television food series for public television entitled “America’s Chefs on Tour” that traveled the country exploring the best chefs and restaurants each city had to offer.  Scott directed a number of high profile chefs for that series including Cat Cora, Todd English, Tom Douglas, Tanya Holland, and Michelle Bernstein. Scott has also directed a number of Chicago’s top chefs for various productions from Paul Kahan, Mindy Segal, Erick Williams and Michael Kornick to Doug Sohn, Ryan Poli and Curtis Duffy.  In addition, Scott has also had the pleasure of directing other food-media personalities such as Steve Dolinsky, Kelly Rizzo, and Leslie Sbrocco.

Most recently, Mint Media Works shot 13 episodes of Mexico: One Plate at a Time with Rick Bayless on the Yucatan Peninsula for Season 11 of this successful series.
